PDF Merge

Combine multiple PDFs into one document. Reorder by moving up or down.

Processed entirely in your browser — files never uploaded

What is PDF Merge?

Merging PDFs combines multiple separate documents into a single file, making it easier to share, archive, or present related content. Whether you are assembling scanned pages, joining report sections from different contributors, or creating a portfolio, our merger lets you drag-and-drop to reorder files before combining them. The merge operation uses pdf-lib to copy pages from each source document into a new combined PDF, all processed locally in your browser.

How to Use

  1. 1Upload two or more PDF files by dragging them onto the drop zone.
  2. 2Use the up and down arrows to reorder the files — the order determines the page sequence.
  3. 3Click "Merge PDFs" to combine them into a single document.
  4. 4Download the merged PDF file.

Why Use This Tool

  • Simplify sharing — send one combined PDF instead of multiple attachments.
  • Assemble documents — join scanned pages, contract sections, or presentation slides into one file.
  • Maintain order — drag to arrange files in the exact sequence you need before merging.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many PDFs can I merge at once?

You can merge as many PDFs as your browser memory allows. In practice, 20-50 PDFs work smoothly on most devices. Each file's pages are appended in the order you arrange them before merging.

Can I reorder pages within a merged PDF?

The merger lets you reorder the source PDF files, but not individual pages within those files. Each source PDF is added as a complete block. If you need to reorder individual pages, merge first, then use the PDF Rotate or Delete Pages tools to adjust.

What happens if the source PDFs have different page sizes?

The merged PDF will contain pages of different sizes if the source documents use different page dimensions. This is common when merging documents from different sources. For a consistent look, ensure all source PDFs use the same page size before merging.

Can I merge encrypted PDFs?

PDFs that require a password to open cannot be merged directly. Use our PDF Password Remover tool to unlock them first. PDFs with only permission restrictions (like printing disabled) can typically still be merged.

Does merging reduce the quality of the PDF content?

No. Merging copies pages exactly as they are from each source PDF. Text, images, fonts, and vector graphics remain at their original quality. The merged file size will be approximately the sum of all input file sizes.
