How are images of different sizes handled during merge?⌄
When merging horizontally, all images are aligned to the top, center, or bottom of the tallest image, and the composite height matches the tallest image. When merging vertically, images are aligned to the left, center, or right of the widest image. The background color fills any empty space around smaller images.
Can I reorder the images before merging?⌄
The images are merged in the order they were uploaded. To change the order, remove images and re-upload them in the desired sequence. The merge proceeds from top to bottom (vertical) or left to right (horizontal) based on upload order.
What is the maximum number of images I can merge?⌄
There is no fixed limit — the constraint is your browser's available memory. In practice, 20-50 images work smoothly on most devices. Very large numbers of high-resolution images may cause memory issues on older devices. For best results, use images of similar dimensions.
What format is the merged output?⌄
The output is always a PNG file, which preserves full quality and supports any background color including transparency. If you need a JPG output, convert the merged PNG using our Image Converter tool.
