Why is my Instagram carousel image getting cut off wrong?⌄
Instagram displays carousel posts in a 1:1 square aspect ratio. If your image is not square, the tiles will be cropped or misaligned. Split your image into a grid where each tile is square (e.g., a 3x3 grid for a square source image), or crop your image to a 1:1 ratio first using our Image Cropper, then split it.
What image formats are supported for the output pieces?⌄
The output format matches the input. If you upload a PNG, each piece is exported as PNG (lossless, with transparency). If you upload a JPEG or WebP, each piece is exported as JPEG. This preserves the original quality and format characteristics.
How does the custom grid work?⌄
Select "Custom" and enter the number of rows (1-6) and columns (1-6). The image is divided into equal-sized cells based on your specifications. For example, 2 rows x 3 columns produces 6 pieces arranged in a 2-high, 3-wide grid.
Are the split pieces full resolution?⌄
Yes. Each piece is cropped from the original image at full pixel resolution. The width of each piece is the original image width divided by the number of columns, and the height is the original image height divided by the number of rows. No resizing or compression is applied.
Can I split an image into non-equal pieces?⌄
No. The splitter divides the image into a uniform grid where every cell is the same size. For non-uniform cuts, you would need to crop each piece individually using our Image Cropper tool with custom crop regions.
